Summary of Work:

Under the supervision of the Director of Wellness Program, and as a member of a multi-disciplinary team, the Administrative Assistant provides technical skills, practical knowledge and self-motivation to carry out clerical functions and support for the Wellness Program.

Professional Qualifications:
  • Shall be mature, flexible, pleasant and exercise a high degree of initiative and judgment.
  • Must have necessary communication and interpersonal skills to provide effective interaction between all persons, including co-workers.
  • Must act with integrity and treat all information regarding clients, physicians, employees, financial and operational status of the organization as confidential.

Personal Qualifications:

Summary of Work:

Under the direction of the Stabilization Unit Team Lead and as a member of the multi-disciplinary team, provide support and assistance to the Shelter and Stabilization Unit Teams.

Professional and Personal Qualities:
  • Graduate of approved Practical Nurse program with current license.
  • Current registration with College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Alberta
  • Other certifications/competencies as required by registering body and as required by program/department.
  • Current CPR certification, to be re-certified annually.
  • Current Frist Aid certification, to be re-certified every three years.
  • Minimum of three to five years of experience in related clinical area.

Transport all scheduled clients to and from Day Treatment Program. Driver is to possess an excellent driving record and good comprehension skills. Driver will maintain professionalism and adhere to strict confidentiality ethics regarding all clients and employees. The Driver will have the ability to drive for long periods and travel distances as required. Driving is required during business hours and when deemed after hours and some weekends.

General Duties and Responsibilities
  • Ensure client safety by adhering to all Alberta Provincials Highway Laws, road signs and speed limits.
  • Good communication skills between Day Treatment and Wellness Program Employees, Passengers and general public.
  • Keep Wellness Program Vehicles maintained, cleaned at all times and fueled.
  • Assist Day Treatment/Wellness Program Employees with other duties as required.
Professional & Personal Qualifications:

  • Naloxone Training
  • Current Class 4 License
  • Minimum of 2-5year’s experience

The Bringing the Spirit Home Program provides hope for those who are affected by substance dependency.  Under the close supervision of a team of physicians, paramedics, counsellors, nurses, peer support workers and elders, the client’s path to recovery is carefully monitored based on their individual needs. Individuals will receive respectful and culturally-safe services in a safe and supportive environment. Under the direction of the Medical Director (Registered Physician) the Paramedics will provide high quality standard of care in accordance with their scope of practice and designation

Professional & Personal Qualities:
  • Successfully completed training as a Primary Care Paramedic or Advanced Care Paramedic from an approved program.
  • Registered with the Alberta College of Paramedics.
  • Valid CPR health care provider, and all qualifications that meet the requirements of the Health Professions Act and Regulations.
  • Must have a minimum of grade 12 diploma or equivalent.
  • Class 4 drivers licence with less than 6 demerits points or prohibition from driving under the criminal code. 
  • Knowledge of Blackfoot language and customs would be an asset.

Provide appropriate and safe care to Residents.  encourage independence and self-care, and performs other duties as requested.

Professional & Personal Qualities:
  • Current registration and in good standing with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Alberta.
  • Other certifications/competencies as required by the registering body and the Organization.
  • Current CPR certification, to be re-certified annually.
  • Current First Aid certification, to be re-certified every three years.
  • Have the necessary communication and interpersonal skills to provide effective interaction between all persons, including coworkers.
  • Have effective organizational skills.
  • Be able and willing to work within a multidisciplinary team environment
  • Ability to:
