SUMMARY OF WORK:
The Activity Assistant will assist in planning, coordinating, implementing, reporting, and evaluating resident recreation activities in long-term care. Duties include leading group activities, transporting residents to and from activities, and ensuring a safe environment for residents. The successful candidate will work under the supervision and direction of the Recreation Therapist. This role will require you to work effectively with internal and external partners and display professionalism and strong ethics in client-centered care.
PROFESSIONAL & PERSONAL QUALITIES:
- Completion of a Diploma from an accredited post-secondary Recreation Therapy Assistant program or a Diploma in the Human Service field may be considered.
- Current Class 5 driver’s license
- Other certifications/competencies as required by the program/department.
- Experience in a healthcare setting is an asset.
- Current CPR & First Aid certification, to be re-certified as needed.
- Have the necessary communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with all persons, including coworkers / Resident’s family members.

SUMMARY:
The Stabilization Unit provides short term care for clients who are on the path to recovery from substance abuse, with staff working with each client to provide individualized care in regards to mental health and addiction supports, and health care. Under the direction of the Stabilization Coordinator and Clinician, the Addictions Counsellor works with clients in the Stabilization Unit that have addictions challenges. The Addictions Counsellor works with the clients to advocate and co-ordinate required services for detox, treatment and recovery. The Addictions Counsellor works with a team of Health Care Aides and Wellness Monitors to ensure clients are safe and able to progress on their journey.
PROFESSIONAL & PERSONAL QUALITIES:
- Must have credential in post-secondary education in Addictions and Mental Health, or other related Health Sciences.
- Must have First Aid training.
- Must have Naloxone/Narcan training.
- Must have NVCI (Non-Violent Crisis Intervention) Certification.
- Must complete MAP training as an unregulated provider.
- Must be mature, pleasant, and exercise a high degree of initiative and judgment.

QUALIFICATIONS & PERSONAL QUALITIES:
- Graduate of an approved school of business, healthcare, or healthcare management program.
- Current registration with College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Alberta or an aligned Association to the Nursing Certification an asset, but not mandatory if not healthcare educated.
- Computer literacy skills and familiar with CHIP, NetCare, etc.
- Harm Reduction experience required.
- Knowledge of scheduling, payroll and HR processes.
- Minimum of three years’ experience in management.
- Class 4 driver’s license.
- CPR certification, First Aid certification TDG certification is an asset.

The security guard is responsible for ensuring a safe enviroment for all employees, clientele and visitors. Hours of work consist of Days, Evenings, and Night rotations. Security Staff are consistently faced with complex situations; therefore, Security is required to troubleshoot where needed and/or consult with Team Lead if unable to do so. This also requires incident reports if the situation involves overdose, Barring Policy and/or any involvement with emergency services. This must be done in accordance with Lethbridge Wellness Shelter and Stabilization Centre Policies & Procedures.
Professional and Personal Qualities:
- 2 to 3 years experience in a high risk environment: health care, low income, homeless shelters, etc.(required)
- Minimum 1 year experience in a Security Guard position (preferred)
- Valid Alberta security License (preferred/ training may be provided)
- Valid First Aid Certification (preferred/ training may be provided)
- Overtime work may be required
- Able to sit, walk, trasfer, lift (80 lbs), carry epuipment and supplies, if required.

The Intake and Assessment Worker assists guests who are experiencing homelessness, mental health and substance abuse issues and completes intake in the Government of Alberta licensed HMIS database called Efforts to Outcome (ETO) system. Reporting to: Wellness Program Director
Summary of Work:
Transport all scheduled clients to and from Day Treatment Program. Driver is to possess an excellent driving record and good comprehension skills. Driver will maintain professionalism and adhere to strict confidentiality ethics regarding all clients and employees. The Driver will have the ability to drive for long periods and travel distances as required. Driving is required during business hours and when deemed after hours and some weekends.
General Duties and Responsibilities
- Ensure client safety by adhering to all Alberta Provincials Highway Laws, road signs and speed limits.
- Good communication skills between Day Treatment and Wellness Program Employees, Passengers and general public.
- Keep Wellness Program Vehicles maintained, cleaned at all times and fueled.
- Assist Day Treatment/Wellness Program Employees with other duties as required.
Professional & Personal Qualifications:
- Current CPR and First Aid certificate
- Naloxone Training
- Current Class 4 License
- Minimum of 2-5year’s experience
Salary Range:
- In accordance with the Blood Tribe Department of Health salary grid.

- Operate large and commercial kitchen equipment.
- Have necessary communications and interpersonal skills to provide effective interaction between all persons, including co-workers.

- Understand the Blackfoot culture and language.
