Program: Bringing the Spirit Home (BTSH)
Reporting To: BTSH Director
Summary of Work:
The Bringing the Spirit Home Program provides hope for those who are affected by substance dependency. Under the close supervision of a team of physicians, paramedics, counsellors, nurses, peer support workers and elders, the client’s path to recovery is carefully monitored based on their individual needs. Individuals will receive respectful and culturally-safe services in a safe and supportive environment. Under the direction of the Medical Director (Registered Physician) the Paramedics will provide high quality standard of care in accordance with their scope of practice and designation
Professional & Personal Qualities:
- Successfully completed training as a Primary Care Paramedic or Advanced Care Paramedic from an approved program.
- Registered with the Alberta College of Paramedics.
- Valid CPR health care provider, and all qualifications that meet the requirements of the Health Professions Act and Regulations.
- Must have a minimum of grade 12 diploma or equivalent.
- Class 4 drivers licence with less than 6 demerits points or prohibition from driving under the criminal code.
- Knowledge of Blackfoot language and customs would be an asset.
Salary Range:

Summary of Work:
The Health Care Aide (HCA) reports directly to the Registered Nurse/ Licensed Practical Nurse on duty. Performs personal care activities; interacts with Residents, family, and staff in a positive and supportive manner.
Professional Qualifications:
- Graduate of an approved/accredited HCA program
- CPR certificate
- First Aid certificate
- Other certificates as required by program.
- Related health care experience
- Safe food handling certificate
Personal Qualities:
- Shall be mature, pleasant, and exercise a high degree of initiative and judgment.
- Must have the necessary communication and interpersonal skills to provide effective interaction between all persons, including coworkers.
- Must act with integrity and treat all information regarding Residents, physicians, employees, and the financial and operational status of the organization as confidential.
- Knowledge of the roles of the multidisciplinary team.
- Knowledge of community resources preferred.

Program: Lethbridge Wellness Shelter and Stabilization Unit
Position: Temporary- 2 month contract
Reporting to: Stabilization Unit Coordinator and Clinician
Summary of Work:
Transport Shelter and Stabilization Unit Clients/Guests to and from appointments and programs on a referral and approval basis as per BTDH Inc., Transportation of Client/Patient/Resident(s) Policy and LWS SU Driving Protocol. The driver is to possess anexcellent driving record and good comprehension skills. The driver will maintain professionalism and adhere to strict ethical and confidentiality practices regarding all clients, guests and employees. The driver will have the ability to drive for long periods and travel distances as required. Driving is required during business hours and when deemed after hours and some weekends.
General Duties and Responsibilities:
- Ensure Client/Guest safety by adhering to all Alberta Provincials Highway Laws, road signs and speed limits.
- Good communication skills between LWS SU departments, programs, passengers and general public.
- Keep LWS SU Vehicles maintained, cleaned at all times and fueled. Alert Security Coordinator of any concerns with vehicles.
- Keep Vehicle Log Record and Checklist completed monthly and submit to Security Coordinator.
- Assist Shelter or Stabilization Unit with other duties as required.
Professional Qualifications:
- Current CPR and First Aid certificate
- Naloxone Training
- Current Class 4 License
- Minimum of 2-5year’s experience
Salary Range:
- Salary Grid as established by BTDH, with subject to change to accommodate Duties

Professional & Personal Qualities:
- Two (2) Year Diploma in Business Administration – Accounting
- Undergrad working towards Bachelor’s Degree in related field
- Minimum of five (5) years’ experience working in related area
- Knowledge and thorough understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
- Experience working with varying levels of government funding (Federal & Provincial,) reporting, and proposals, and compliance with funding requirements
- Working knowledge and experience using Microsoft Dynamics GP, Microsoft Dynamics Management Reporter for ERP, Microsoft Office
- Must possess excellent computer skills and be familiar with computer software and programs
- Knowledge of community issues and how BTDH is interrelated within
- Knowledge and understanding/speaking of the Blackfoot language is an asset

Professional & Personal Qualities:
- Bachelor of Nursing Degree
- Current registration with CRNA

- Standard First Aid
- Certification in basic CPR
- Minimum three (3) years’ work experience in the area of community health or one-year hospital work experience.
- Valid Class 4 Driver’s License
- Innoculist Certification.
- Ability and willingness to work independently and/or in a team-focused environment
- Ability and willingness to work within an interdisciplinary team environment including community agencies, government officials, co-workers, and outside agencies
- Flexibility in programming and functions to meet challenges of ever-changing environment, community needs and crisis situations
