AHS is responsible for the provision of emergency medical services (EMS) which includes ground and air ambulance services operations in Alberta.

The Blood Tribe EMS team consists of Emergency Medical Responders (EMR), Primary Care Paramedics (PCP) and Advanced Care Paramedics (ACP).

Blood Tribe Fire Services is dedicated to protecting lives, property, and the environment within the Blood Tribe community. Our mission is to provide comprehensive fire protection, emergency response, and fire prevention services to ensure the safety and well-being of our residents. The types of calls the department attends include:

  • Structure fires
  • Motor vehicle collisions
  • Vehicle fires
  • Grass and brush fires
  • Smoke/fire investigations
  • Medical/RCMP assists
  • Alarm bells
  • Miscellaneous public support calls
  • Ice rescue

Training sessions are conducted monthly to keep up skill levels. Formal training is conducted within the department, including practical skill training.

Fire Prevention

Fire prevention activities include school and community tours of the Blood Tribe Emergency Services building and presentations at local schools. Safety codes inspections are also conducted upon complaint or request, to ensure compliance with the Alberta Fire Code.
