Prenatal/Maternal/Infant Health Services
Blood Tribe Community Health’s pre-and post-natal programs create a supportive environment for all expectant parents and families to strengthen their support systems and encourage healthy lifestyle choices. Services provided during pregnancy to the baby’s first birthday, including prenatal office/home visits, prenatal classes, postnatal office/home visits and Well Baby Immunization Clinics.
Preschool Services
Services provided for children, age one to five including high risk follow-up, immunization, pre-school assessment and parenting education.
School Services
Services for children 6 to 18, including immunizations for students in Blood Reserve schools, preventative health and education follow-up.
Children’s Oral Health Initiative
The Children’s Oral Health Initiative (COHI) is an early childhood tooth decay prevention program aimed at children aged 0 to 11, their caregivers and pregnant women living on-reserve or accessing on-reserve resources.
Men’s & Women’s Wellness Events
Services for Men include screening (Man Van) for Prostate Cancer, Diabetes, BP, Waist Circumference.
Services for Women include: Fit Tests, Pap Tests, & Mammograms with Screen Test Mobile Unit
Kainai Diabetes Program and Nutrition Counselling
Providing diabetes care, education and support.
First Steps Healthy Babies (FSHB) or “Maaksikowattsimaani” Program
An intensive mentorship program that focuses on decreasing the high ratio of high alcohol/drug-related births in the Blood Tribe Community.
