The Wound Care Specialist is located at the Levern clinic Monday- Friday. The goal is to promote wound healing, early detection and prevention of infections. Providing a resource to the community members and those working with the community members regarding the prevention, treatment and management of acute and chronic wounds in partnership with the greater health care team.Wound Care specialist services include:
- Lower leg assessments (ABI, TBI, PPG)
- Wound assessments and wound care protocols
- Conservative sharp wound debridement

Blood Tribe Dental Clinic

Full range of services are provided, including examination, X-ray, cleaning, fluoride application, extraction, root canal treatment, crown and bridge treatment and denture construction. A dental program is also provided for children attending reserve schools, upon consent by parents/guardians. Referrals are made for patients requiring specialized treatment
The Dental Clinic has been in operation since September 1987. A full range of services includes examination, x-rays, cleaning, fluoride application, Botox, sedations (nitrous, oral, general anesthetic), extraction, root canal treatment, crown and bridge treatments and denture treatment. A dental program is available for children attending reserve schools, pending consent of parents/guardians. The staff consists of dentist, three dental assistants, two dental hygienists, one treatment coordinator, and two receptionists.
Coverage for dental services is determined on an individual basis, taking into consideration the patients insurance coverage. NIHB (Indian Affairs) covers the majority of patient treatment.
Does a wide array of dental care including extractions, crowns and bridge, root canals, fillings, Botox and sedations. He works with patients requiring services with dentures (partial or full), with children requiring dental treatments including having access to a surgical facility that allows for patients to be sedated under general anesthetic in a hospital setting. Dr. Tail Feathers works closely with the local schools throughout the school year to provide dental care to the students. Preventative is provided to the patients with the support of three dental assistants and two hygienists.
Provide a variety of patient care, office and dental laboratory duties. The Dental Assistant will obtain dental records ensuring that all information is current and accurate. They assist the dentist chairside using their expertise with procedures and patient comfort.
The Dental Assistant sterilize and disinfect instruments, prepare trays for dental procedures and instruct patients regarding dental procedures. Also work with patients on post-operative and general oral health care.
Provide periodontal care to aide in prevention of periodontal disease which affects the structures supporting the teeth. Ultimately the goal of the hygienist is to provide care to maintain or improve periodontal health to help reduce inflammation of the gums and to maintain stability of the teeth.
The Dental Clinic works closely with the Non-Insured Health Benefits Program. NIHB from First Nations and Inuit Health Branch pays for all dental work and treatments on the Dental Benefit List.
The NIHB Director advocates on behalf of patients who have been rejected for health benefits by appealing, using the three level of the Appeals process.

The pharmacy is licensed under the Alberta Pharmaceutical Act as Blood Tribe Pharmacy and managed by Gina Tail Feathers and Tracy Creighton. The pharmacy dispenses prescribed drugs, maintains patient medical profiles, and provides several additional on-demand services such as injections, prescription extensions, medication reviews, and more. It also fills medication dossettes, delivery of drug and drug round-up. Staff consists of licensed clinical pharmacists and assistants.
