Intake Assessment Worker

Program: Lethbridge Wellness Shelter Stabilization Unit
Summary of Work:
Under the direction of the Shelter Coordinator, the Intake and Assessment Worker is one of the first points of contact for all guests entering the Shelter. The Intake and Assessment Worker assists guests who are experiencing homelessness, mental health and substance abuse issues and completes intake in the Government of Alberta licensed HMIS database called Efforts to Outcome (ETO) system. The Intake and Assessment Worker ensures smooth operations of the Bin Room ensuring policies are adhered to by both staff and guests, conducts wellness rounds when required and cleans and sanitizes the Bin Room regularly.
Professional and Personal Qualities:
- Must have First Aid training.
- Must have Naloxone/Narcan Training.
- Must have NVCI (Non-Violent Crisis Intervention) Certification.
- Must be proficient in the use of computers and databases.
- Must have administrative or clerical experience.
- Must be mature, pleasant, and exercise a high degree of initiative and judgment.
- Must understands and maintains guest/worker boundaries.
- Must have the necessary communication and interpersonal skills to provide effective interaction between all persons, including coworkers.
- Must act with integrity and treat all information regarding guests, emergency medical personnel, employees, and the financial and operational status of the organization as confidential.
- Must have knowledge of the roles of the multidisciplinary team.
- A knowledge of community resources preferred.
- Must be able to set priorities in the face of multiple demands.
- Must have the ability to function effectively in a dynamic environment.
- Must be able to sit, walk, transfer, lift, carry equipment and supplies.
Salary Range:
- As per Blood Tribe Department of Health Inc. salary grid.
