Program: Continuing Care Centre
Position: 6 month term
Reporting to: Office Manager

Summary of Work:

Under the direct supervision of the Office Manager, the Recreational Therapist provides life enrichment and recreational therapeutic services through assessment and care planning to enhance the quality of life for the Residents.  

The Recreational Therapist is responsible for the overall success of the program by providing activities through:

  • Evaluating
  • Leadership 
  • Planning
  • Developing
  • Implementing
Professional Qualifications:
  • Graduate of an approved program in related field
  • Current CPR, to be re-certified annually.
  • Have necessary communications and interpersonal skills to provide effective interaction between all persons, including co-workers.
  • Have effective organizational skills.
  • Understanding of the Blackfoot culture and language.
  • Work within a multidisciplinary team environment.
  • Ability to:
    • Function independently and effectively in a dynamic environment.
    • Set priorities in the face of multiple demands.
  • Assume responsibility to maintain or improve personal health and well-being.
  • Able to provide and receive constructive feedback.
Salary Range:
  • In accordance with the Blood Tribe Department of Health salary grid.
