Book Launch: Kottaninooniksi Awaahkapiayaawa

The Blood Tribe Department of Health is excited to invite you to the official book launch of Kottakinooniksi Awaahkapiayaawa (Bringing Our Spirits Home), published by Eagle Speaker Publishing Company. We will be hosting the event at the Galt Museum in Lethbridge on Friday, October 11, 2024, from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m
This powerful book tells the story of the Blood Tribe Addictions Framework—a comprehensive plan developed by the Blood Tribe to combat the ongoing drug crisis.
The framework has served as a blueprint for community-driven solutions, including the establishment of the Bringing the Spirit Home Detox Centre. It is also a valuable resource for other communities and organizations seeking to address similar challenges.
At the event, the book’s authors, Rebecca Many Grey Horses, MA and Lene Jorgensen, will speak about their work and read excerpts from the book. Copies of Bringing Our Spirits Home will be available for purchase.
