REPORTING TO: Director of Essential Services
SUMMARY OF WORK:
Under the direction of the Director of Essential Services, you are required to provide medical support to residents within the Bringing the Spirit Home Program. The BTSH program provides hope for those who are fighting a drug addiction. Alongside a team of paramedics, counsellors, peer support workers and elders, the client’s path to recovery is carefully monitored based on their individual needs. It is the duty of the Advanced Care Paramedic to deliver emergency and medical support care in accordance with your professional designation as Advance Care Paramedic (ACP) NFPA 1001 (as defined by Alberta College of Paramedics and be an “Active Practitioner without Restrictions”).
PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:
- Successfully completed training as an Advanced Care Paramedic (ACP) NFPA 1001 from an approved program
- Registered with the Alberta College of Paramedics
- Be an “Active Practitioner without Restrictions”.
- Valid CPR health care provider, and all qualifications the meet the requirements of the Health Professions Act and Regulations.
- Must have a minimum of grade 12 diploma or equivalent.
- Valid Class 4 Driver’s license.

PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:
- Successfully completed training as a Primary Care Paramedic (PCP) from an approved program
- Registered with the Alberta College of Paramedics
- Valid CPR health care provider, and all qualifications that meet the requirements of the Health Professions Act and Regulations
- Must have a minimum of grade 12 diploma or equivalent
- Class 4 drivers licence with less than 6 demerits points or prohibition from driving under the criminal code. Knowledge of Blackfoot language and customs would be an asset.
