Program: Community Health Services – First Steps for Healthy Babies
Reporting To: First Steps for Healthy Babies Team Leader

Summary of Work:

The Mentor is responsible to provide support to families with infants and young children so they can reach their fullest developmental and lifetime potential. Must conduct family assessments, develop and implement prevention and intervention strategies (including addictions, homelessness and family violence) to stabilize families and refer to existing community resources for longer term family support programs.

Professional & Personal Qualities:

• Diploma in Early Childhood, Social Work, Nursing
• Must posses a valid Class 5 Drivers License (May need to upgrade to a class 4, to transport clients)
• One-year experience in addiction field or Nursing field.
• Knowledge of the Blackfoot culture
• Blackfoot language an asset

Salary Range:

• In accordance with the Blood Tribe Department of Health Inc. Salary Grid.
