TITLE: Licensed Practical Nurse
FTE: 1.0 Permanent
PROGRAM: Long-Term Care
REPORTING TO: Nurse Manager
SUMMARY OF WORK:
The Licensed Practical Nurse contributes to the assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of
Resident care while applying nursing practice standards set by the College of Licensed Practical Nurses
of Alberta (CLPNA). Provide appropriate and safe care to Residents. encourage independence and selfcare, and performs other duties as requested.
PROFESSIONAL & PERSONAL QUALIFICATIONS:
• Current registration and in good standing with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of
Alberta.
• Other certifications/competencies as required by the registering body and the Organization.
• Current CPR certification, to be re-certified annually.
• Current First Aid certification, to be re-certified every three years.
• Have the necessary communication and interpersonal skills to provide effective interaction
between all persons, including coworkers.
• Have effective organizational skills.
• Be able and willing to work within a multidisciplinary team environment
• Ability to:
o Function independently and effectively in a dynamic environment.
o Set priorities in the face of multiple demands.
• Assume responsibility to maintain or improve personal health and well-being.
• Able to provide and receive constructive feedback.
SALARY RANGE:
• As per Blood Tribe Department of Health Inc. salary grid.
