SUMMARY OF WORK:
The registered nurse is responsible for the overall care of the First Nations Residents at the Long Term Care Unit. The registered nurse will provide direction to the Health Care Aide team and to the Unit Clerk and liaise with the physicians, pharmacy, dietary, home care, community health, physiotherapy, occupational therapy, and recreational therapy. The registered nurse provides professional nursing care using the nursing process, contributes to the long term care team, and performs other related duties to assist in the provision of quality care.
- Current Registration with the College & Association of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CARNA)
- Bachelor of Nursing Degree from an approved nursing education program.
- CPR Certification ( Heart and Stoke)
- Wound Care Certification
- Geriatric nursing experience
- Understanding of Blood Tribe culture, tradition, and language preferred.
